H.E.L.P. House is open to all individuals
in need. All items from our food, clothing, household pantries and miscellaneous
items are distributed at no charge. Clients may visit once a
week.
At
your first visit, you will be asked to complete the Ohio Department of Job
and Family Services "Federal and State Funded Food Programs
Eligibility to Take Food Home" form. This is a simple form that
all clients using food pantries served by the Mid-Ohio Food Bank are
required to complete. You will be asked for your name, address,
phone number and how many individuals are in your family and their
ages. By signing the form, you are stating that your income it at or
less than the amounts listed on the form.
After
the first visit, upon check-in you will sign the same form again.
You do not have to complete it again until next July...when everyone is
required to complete a new one.
You
may visit once a week. Our food pantry is a "choice
pantry". This means that you get to select the foods you
want. The amount of food items allowed is based the number of people
in your family. In addition to the food that goes toward your limit,
we also have "do not count items." These items include,
when available, fresh produce, bread, bakery items, frozen food and some
other items.
Clothing
and household goods are also available. As it becomes available, we also
have personal care items and over-the-counter meds. Because we rely on
donations and availability at the food bank, we cannot guarantee that we
will have any particular item at any certain time.
Many
of our volunteers are clients, so they understand your needs.
Director Dee Heilman always has a listening ear as well as other faithful
volunteers Doveina and Louise.
